TRU Simulation + Training is a proven training partner for the military. As a subcontractor, TRU provided the strategic assistance for the United States Air Force’s C-17 training, delivering an effective, efficient training program to support mission readiness. This is one of many stories demonstrating TRU’s expertise for collaboration and reliable service.

Project Brief: USAF C-17 Training

TRU Simulation + Training acted as a subcontractor, partnering with L3 Technologies, to accomplish essential milestones for the USAF C-17 training program.

  • 99% Average training system effectiveness since 2011
  • 100% Deliveries on or ahead of schedule
  • 190 SDRLs and data-artifacts submitted

Concurrency Modifications on Demand

Aviation is an ever-changing field. As missions grow, so does the need for aircraft modifications. To ensure the training always accurately reflected the challenges the C-17 team would face in the field, TRU modified the maintenance training system throughout the program, keeping pace with any new challenges.

Eliminating Obsolesce Downtime

The USAF needs to be able to train on the most accurate systems in its specified timeline. To better serve this need, TRU re-architected the training systems to eliminate any downtime in system availability caused by out-of-date technology.

On-Target Program Management

When the mission is critical, time counts. Through meticulous program management and review, TRU ensured that all aspects of the C-17 program were well-coordinated to never miss a deadline. Transparent collaboration with all program partners ensured each task was handled to the highest quality standards.

End-to-End Service

TRU managed all training system modifications throughout the program, ensuring each was completed on time, every time, to meet USAF training standards. This level of process optimization wouldn’t be possible without a deep familiarity with daily operations—from design and development—and all project personnel.

Guidance for Change Management

TRU tracked and analyzed aircraft changes throughout the program, creating a roadmap for changes yet to come. With this system in place, TRU could better ensure the training system stayed concurrent for timely and effective training.
